Hey everyone! Its the baby of the family here to tell you guys about my very, very, very, FIRST DATE!!!! :)
Let me start off by telling you that I asked a girl named Moriah Fuller, Mr. Fuller's daughter. She is a sophomore and goes to Granger.
So here is how I asked her:
On Febuary 8th, after school, I decided that I was going to ask Moriah that day, and if I didnt that day, it would be too late to ask anyone. Luckily she is in the play so she had to stay after school for practice. I asked my friend Oliver, who is a senior and he is helping to direct the play, if he had any ideas. After a while of thinking we came up with a brilliant idea! I went backstage while they were practicing, and Oliver went and gathered everyone together and said, "Everyone we're going to do a performance exercise, let me show you how it works, Moriah will you come help me?" Then he blind folded her and walked her up onto this 7 foot platform on the stage. Once they got to the top, I ran up behind them, Oliver left the platform, and I pulled down the blindfold and asked her with everyone watching! It was very, very scary!! But it turned out well! Luckily, she said yes! There was a little bit of drama though because this other kid had kind of asked Moriah before, but he only asked her so she didnt have to go with someone else, and then he was wishy washy on whether or not he was really going to go with her or not. So I asked around with his friends and made sure that he wasnt going with her and they said he wasn't, but when he saw me ask her, I guess he had kind of changed his mind, so he was a little sad, but i talked to him and everything turned out good! (Thats a different story though)
Theres how I asked her!
Now, what I really wanted to write about, and that is, THE DATE!!! :) I had a really big group with mostly seniors and juniors. It was great! On saturday, February 13, at 10:00, a kid named Jonny Chesnut (who is also the SBO president at Granger) came and picked me up and we drove over to Moriahs house. I picked her up and then we met up with our group at Jons house. While we were waiting, I felt kind of shy and nervous to talk to her. I tried to come up with things to say to her, but nothing came up. Once everyone was there, we drove to Color Me Mine, which is a fun little painting type shop in Sugarhouse. Moriah and I painted a vase thing together. I relaxed a little bit and started talking to her more, but I still felt a little nervous.
I got home from that at about 1:30. We were planning to leave for dinner at about 5:00.
So I got all dressed and Jon came and picked me up at around 5:15 because his date was running a little late. I went and picked up Moriah and that was when I was the most nervous throughout the entire night. I knocked on the door and saw Mr. Fuller just sitting on the couch, and then Moriah opened it and invited me in. Mr. Fuller was in there with his camera and started taking pictures of us. It was funny! I gave him dads camera to take some photos too. After that we went to Liana Tan's house (Jon's date) While Jon was in getting Liana, Moriah and I were just in the car and we talked for a while. She is a really easy girl to talk to. It was great! We drove downtown to a little resturant called J. Wongs Asian Bistro. It was really great food, and not too expensive either! I want to go there for a BFF or something like that! Anyways, that was a lot of fun talking to her there and helping her cut her food because they didnt have knives there. :)
After dinner, we then headed up to.......THE CAPITAL! Thats where the big dance was! It was sooooooooooo cool and fun! We got there really late though so I only got to dance with Moriah a couple of times, but it was still so much fun! The theme song this year was, "unforgettable" by Nat King Cole! I had a BLAST!!!! The only thing was, I never, ever thought I would spend SO much money on pictures! They were so darn expensive! Oh well...thats what a job is for, right? :)
After the fabulous dance, we went back to Jons house and watched a movie. People started leaving at about midnight and the movie wasn't even halfway finished! Luckily, Moriah lives just right across the street from Jon, so I just walked her home at about midnight! The doorstep scene wasn't awkward or anything, it was great! By the end of the date, I felt like I could talk to her really, really easily! I didnt feel nervous anymore, and I could just be myself! It was great! After I said goodnight to her, I went back to the house and Jon drove me home. I got home at about 12:15 p.m.
So there ya have it! My VERY VERY first date! It was really, really, really, really fun!!!! I had a GREAT time! I love being 16!!! Just thought I would let you all know that I'm doing good here at home! All is well!! Love you guys!
Max
