We sure love grandma winder too. I just sent her a Facebook post telling her of my love. I have a renewed desire to use social media if I know grandma will see it :). Loves!

Thanks for your nice responses everyone. I'm sure you have figured out that often write these letters for my own journal purposes. Sorry that I left you off the dinner list Rosey - I didn't mean to.Kristi asked about grandma Winder's health. It is really good, especially considering her age, but I do see her slowing down. And sometimes her memory gives her trouble - like in forgetting her password. She was so embarrassed and mad at herself. I guess it wasn't her regular password but a six-digit thing she used. Anyway, she does seem to be slowing down and tends to just want to stay at home more and more. One of her very greatest joys is the big poster Mike made for her at Christmas with all her posterity. She shows it to everyone! Her family - all of you - that is her joy!

She is always one of the first to like my posts :) We tried to call her a few weeks ago and left a message. We would really love to FaceTime with her the next time she comes over. We are missing her (and everyone!) a lot lately, and would love a chance to catch up. How is her health?We are super excited to meet Ashley. I've texted with her a little bit and connected on social media, but we can't wait to do it in person. I feel so bad that she get sick on rollercoasters! Poor girl. She will be in good company though, Bentley is very nervous and not too excited about the scarier rides, and the last time I went on a big roller coaster I didn't feel so hot either (which was SO SAD for me, I love rollercoasters!). The good thing about Disney is that even if you didn't do any of the rides there is still so much to see and do, it will be great...and there are plenty of non thrill rides too. And no one pressure me to go on the ferris wheel, I think we all learned last time that no one is happy when I am on a ferris wheel :) Ha ha. I was getting excited for our trip today and thinking how fun it will be to have Warner there too! He seems like he'd be a fun one to go on rides with :) My how the family has grown since our last trip to Disney! Have I mentioned that WE CAN'T WAIT!36 years! I'll tell you what, the weird thing about that to me isn't what a long time it is, it is that Blaine and I seem to be catching up to you :) Ha ha. I did the math the other day and realized that in only about five or six years I will be the age that you were when I started hanging out with Blaine! Wow, time flies! Hope you have a marvelous anniversary! I feel like I am finally getting a grasp of how everyone always said that your love for your spouse grows deeper with time. I know it is true with Blaine and I, and believe you when you say it only grows and grows more with more time. I missed last week so I must write even though it is late Sunday night. I will hit a couple of highlights of the past two weeks.
Thursday, April 7 Liz was in town and we got together for a Bassett sibling dinner at Cracker Barrel. Low prices, good food, great waiter and I had a fun conversation with Liz. Poor Jeannie was stuck across the table with the brothers talking Hollow Earth. Diane wasn't able to come because she has started working at Fidelity Investments and she is studying for her series 7 test.
Over the 8th/9th weekend I spent some time helping grandma with her I-pad. Yes, me! The blind leading the blind! She had forgotten her passwords and we exhausted all her tries until we could not retrieve anything and were locked out. So we took it in to an Apple Store to get it wiped clean - or whatever they do. Then the next day dad went over, hooked it to her computer and found everything was backed up on "the cloud" so he could restore it all. Grandma was so happy. She must have thanked us two dozen times. She just loves her iPad and spends much time sitting on her couch on Facebook and Instagram. It helps her feel connected to all her grandkids and great grandkids. She is always reminding me to look at Kristi's cute pictures.
I loved our Saturday, April 9 family BBQ. It was fun to connect with Kris and talk about the trip. Janey was so prepared with even a handout about her day. Again I appreciate all that Kris has done on the fast passes. It was rather stressful to me so I sort of put it out of my mind. It was fun to celebrate Nick's birthday that night, two days early, with a lemon cake (easiest cake on earth to make) Can you believe Nick turned 32. You guys are getting old! I stayed up late on Saturday unpicking old scout patches (St George) and sewing on new ones (West Jordan plus training stuff) on Nick's scout shirt. I got up early Sunday morning and ran them over to him - a labor of love for his birthday.
Dad and I have been cleaning out closets and getting rid of a few things. I took a big load to DI last week. That feels good.
On Friday, April 15 I ended up having to work. The other aide was headed to Havasupai and we traded some days. Because of that I wasn't able to go to the Sterling Financial family movie night (Travis's company). Dad, Janey and Rosey went and enjoyed Jungle Book. It was a good thing I didn't go because then I could attend Christopher Shaw's Eagle Court. There was a great turnout for that and I was really glad to be a part of it as I am Chris's "adopted" mom. He has earned something like 39 merit badges. Jennifer had done a really nice slide show. There were lots of talks and displays and really good food. The Shaw's are big scouters and it was a nice event.
Yesterday, Saturday, April 16 was a full day. I got a 5 mile walk/run in before dad and I went over to help clean the church. The YSA aren't great at signing up for that so dad had all the ward council come and we got it done pretty quickly. Then we went to the Salt Lake Temple with a YSA, Li, from mainland China who joined the church a year ago and is now going on a mission. It was really nice. Dad mowed the lawn later and the yard is looking nice.
We had Janey, Warner, Griff, Max and Ashley to Sunday dinner today. We watched the Disneyland slide show dad prepared. We gave Ashley her official ticket and meal money (like you guys all got at Christmastime). She is really excited to go. We also got her on the same flight with Max so things are set there. One thing to note. Ashley doesn't love or go on roller coasters or those kinds of rides. She was kind of apologizing about it and hoping we wouldn't be disappointed. She doesn't want a big deal made of it but wanted to let us know. I'm glad she would bring it up and I thought I would mention it so no one puts undue pressure on her. She is sure excited to meet Blaine and Kris and family.
Well tomorrow is 36 years. Happy Anniversary to my honey bun! Marrying dad is the best decision I ever made. I figure we have now known each other two thirds of our lives. I love dad more, and in a sweeter way, with every passing year. I'm so thankful to have him for eternity. Last year we were in Holland seeing tulips and on a little river cruise where they brought us a special dessert with sparklers. Tomorrow we will both work and will then go to the YSA FHE talent show and have pizza. Good times. Life is good.
